We’ve officially entered a new year and a new decade! Happy New Year! With all of the buzz about resolutions, many of us are thinking about how we can improve our lives in different ways.
One common resolution that many people make has to do with improving our health. There is no quick fix to our health; resolutions take time and commitment. It’s now time we look toward 2020 with the resolve to improve our health and wellness.
If you want to make 2020 your best year yet, follow these healthy tips:
1. Schedule your annual check-up
Many of us put off going to the doctor until we fear that something is wrong. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure; get in for that annual physical and ask for the works. Knowing is half the battle; practicing better health is the rest of the equation.
2. Incorporate exercise
Nothing will improve your health faster than beginning to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Running, swimming, weight lifting, yoga…..it’s all wonderful, and it’s all necessary. Aim to add movement and exercise to your day, and your body, mind, and spirit will thank you.
3. Clean up that diet!
Wine, cheese, chocolate, and foods laden with sauce and savory goodness…most people have loaded up on them over the holidays. It’s time for a thorough “house” cleaning. Perhaps a short detox will jumpstart your path to cleaner eating in 2020; consider a juice cleanse, or just aim for incorporating more fresh fruit and vegetable juices into your daily diet. The more you can change your habits slowly, over time, the more likely these beneficial changes will stick with you long term. A diet rich in fruits and veggies, whole grains, and quality protein is ideal for optimal health.
4. Incorporate CBD oil into your daily life

Gather that social circle, appreciate the crazy family members that life has given you, and work on developing the best relationships possible.
7. Drink more water
Water is the very essence of life—the human body is comprised of approximately 60-80 percent water. Drinking water hydrates our tissues, helps our cells to work more efficiently, and allows us to release harmful toxins from the body almost effortlessly. Aim for drinking half your body weight in ounces daily for best results.
8. Get back into nature
As a technologically advanced society, we have noticed a steady decline in our health due to an increasingly sedentary lifestyle. Perhaps it’s time you turn off the tech devices for a while and connect with nature once more. Go for a nature walk with your kids, enjoy a bout of fishing with the grandparents, and take in the beauty that Mother Nature surrounds us with. It’s good for the heart, mind, and soul.
